Description
The Autodesk® Revit® software is a powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) program that works the way structural engineers think. The program has been designed to teach the concepts and principles from building design through construction documentation.
PRE-REQUESITE:
This training guide introduces the fundamental skills in learning the Autodesk Revit Structure software. An understanding of structural design and its terminology is an asset.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
MODULE I: Introduction to Fusion 360
- The students are able to:
- Understand the purpose of BIM and how it is applied in the Autodesk Revit software;
- Navigate the workspace and interface;
- Work with basic drawing and editing tools; and
- Create datum elements for the model.
- The students are able to:
- Create a 3D building model with structural columns and walls
- Add beams, trusses and framing systems.
- The students are able to:
- Add structural slabs to the model
- Add structural reinforcement
- Understand analytical models and load placements
- The students are able to:
- Set up sheets for plotting with text, dimensions, details, tags, and schedules; and
- Create details.
