Description
This complete training course will enable participants to assess ergonomic risk factors in the workplace and apply basic ergonomic principles to promote productivity and safety of workers.
ENTRY COMPETENCIES of Participants (Prerequisites):
Office managers, supervisors and workers.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Participants completing this course should at the minimum be able to:
- Learn the concepts and applications of ergonomics in the workplace
- Analyze ergonomic problems as applied in the workplace design
- Develop strategies on how to manage workplace risks and occupational injuries

- This training module aims to uncover and assess the work-musculoskeletal disorders and risks in the work environment due to poor working posture and apply effective methods for controlling risk factors
- Postural Safety and Manual Material Handling
- Assessment of Work-Musculoskeletal Disorders (CMDQ & NMDQ)
- Postural Assessment and Analysis (RULA and NIOSH)
- This training module aims to assess ergonomic risk factors associated with poor physical work design; and provide knowledge and skills in using appropriate instruments and tools in developing safety design programs through the conduct of work environment measurement
- Physical Workplace Design
- Introduction to the Physical Factors of the Work Environment (Illumination, Noise, Temperature, Layout)
- Lighting Design Consideration in the Workplace
- Noise Exposure Assessment in the workplace
- Temperature, Humidity and Ventilation in the Workplace
- This training module aims to assess ergonomic risk factors associated with poor design of work station; and provide knowledge and skills in Anthropometry in developing ergonomic design
