Course Description

This course covers investigative methods and standards for the acquisition, extraction, preservation, analysis, and deposition of digital evidence from devices. Students will learn how to find traces of illegal or illicit activities left by perpetrators with DFIR tools and manual techniques plus how to recover data from the incident.

Entry Competencies of Participants (Prerequisites)

Basic understanding of computer operating systems and some windows and linux commands
