LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world which provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. A LEED credential denotes proficiency in today’s sustainable design, construction and operations standards. More than 203,000 professionals have earned a LEED credential to help advance their careers. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership. The course aims to provide LEED Green Associate Credential Holders an in-depth understanding of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Reference Guide for Building Design and Construction in preparation for LEED Accredited Professional BD+C Specialty Exam.

The training coursework is aligned to the exam requirements of LEED AP Candidate Handbook (LEED v4).

ENTRY COMPETENCIES of Participants (Prerequisites):

This course is specifically designed for LEED Green Associate credential Holders who wants to upgrade to LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP who wants to Earn CE Hours, LEED AP without Specialty, and LEED AP (Legacy) who passed BD+C specialty under LEED v2009

Course Objectives

Expected from the course program

The objective of this course are as follows:

  1. To understand the LEED Certification process for New Construction and Major Renovation projects
  2. To determine the specific requirements of each credit category during design and construction.
  3. To be familiar with the structure of the building design and construction Reference Guide
  4. To determine the important role of LEED AP BD+C in the LEED Certification process
  5. To expose the participants to actual LEED submission to third party certifying body.

  1. Determine the role of the LEED AP in the certification process.
  2. Understand the LEED AP exam process.
  3. Discuss and apply the LEED Certification process
  4. Discuss and apply the intent and the requirements of SS and LT
  5. Discuss and apply the intent and the requirements of WE and EA
  6. Discuss and apply the intent and the requirements of MR and EQ
  7. Understand how projects can be rewarded for additional points by applying strategies not covered by the credit categories.
  8. Determine the strategies which recognizes regional set sustainability need.
  9. Understand and apply the synergy and tradeoff between credits.
  10. Know how to prepare for LEED AP BD+C exam
