Description
This course covers two areas of business communication: written/e-mail correspondence and business presentations. The first area includes an overview of business correspondence/email writing, audience awareness and purpose in business correspondence/email writing, writing strategies for effective business correspondence, do's and dont's in business letter and email correspondence, and a writing workshop. The second area tackles the two-stage business presentation process, namely preparation – including researching the audience, selecting material, preparing visuals, outlining and writing text for presentation, and rehearsing – and presentation – including introducing the topic, developing ideas, answering questions and drawing conclusions. A workshop also takes place after. By the end of the course, the participants will be able to demonstrate two ultimate outcomes: (a) write clear, concise, and consistent business letters and e-mails and (b) plan and deliver effective business presentations.
ENTRY COMPETENCIES of Participants (Prerequisites): Industry practitioners/employees who execute business communication tasks for their respective companies are welcome to enroll in the course. Computer-related skills will be an advantage.
