Course Description

This course aims to develop the skills of subject matter experts of a company to prepare and design a training module that is implementing constructive alignment of learning outcomes or objectives and teaching and learning activities and assessments.

Entry Competencies od Participants

Any personnel in a company considered as subject matter expert in terms of professional education or training and experiential skills and work exposure. Basic knowledge and experience in using technology/internet tools or applications (e.g., LMS, online resources, etc.) is an advantage for any trainee of this course.

Course Objectives/Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the participant shall be able to prepare and design a training module of a subject matter that he/she specializes through the step-by-step process of:

  1. Preparation of Training Needs Assessment;
    • Identification of clear business goal that the training shall support
    • Determination of the roles of the trainees in the organizational chart to reach the identified goal
    • Determination of the training activities that will help the trainees reach the goal
    • Determination of the learning characteristics of the workers that will make the training more effective

  2. Integration of Adult Learning Principles;
    • Theories and Principles of Andragogy or Adult Learning
    • Keeping Adult Learning Principles in Mind while Developing and Designing a Training Module

  3. Development of Learning Objectives;
    • Addressing Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude
    • Creating SMART (Smart, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound)
    • Learning Objectives
    • Based on ABCD (Actor, Behavior of the Actor which employees must perform, Conditions under which the employees must perform; and Degree to which the employee must perform the behavior)

  4. Designing the Training Materials;
