Core Skills
CompTIA IT Fundamentals
The CompTIA IT Fundamentals will certify the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to identify and explain the basics of computing, IT infrastructure, application software development, database fundamentals, and security. It is also intended for candidates who are advanced end users, are considering a career in IT and are interested in pursuing professional-level certifications, such as A+.
Install software
Establish basic network connectivity
Identify/prevent basic security risks
Explain troubleshooting theory and preventive maintenance of devices
CompTIA A+
CompTIA A+ is the preferred performance-based qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. A+ certified professionals identify issues and problem solve more effectively than those without certification. CompTIA A+ supports the ability to connect users to the data they need to do their jobs regardless of the devices being used.
Install and image virtual machines
Set up and troubleshoot peripheral devices
Assemble and disassemble computing hardware
Set up and support basic home and small office networks
Implement cybersecurity controls appropriate to help desk and technical support roles
Troubleshoot and support end user access to applications and data
CompTIA Network+
CompTIA Network+ validates the knowledge and skills needed to troubleshoot, configure, and manage wired and wireless networks found in companies around the world. Network+ certifies a professional-level understanding of emerging technologies including cloud and virtualization technologies.
Design and implement functional networks.
Configure, manage, and maintain essential network devices.
Use devices such as switches and routers to segment network traffic and create resilient networks. Identify benefits and drawbacks of existing network configurations.
Implement network security, standards, and protocols.
Troubleshoot network problems.
Support the creation of virtualized networks.
CompTIA Security+
The new Security+ certification covers the Junior IT Auditor/Penetration Tester job role, in addition to the previous job roles for Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, and Security Administrator.
It establishes the core knowledge required of any cybersecurity role and provides a springboard to intermediate-level cybersecurity jobs.
Security+ incorporates best practices in hands-on trouble-shooting to ensure security professionals have practical security problem-solving skills.
Cybersecurity professionals with Security+ know how to address security incidents – not just identify them.
Recent updates ensure the exam keeps pace with the evolving security landscape.
Security+ is developed by leading IT experts and industry-wide survey feedback.
Security+ is compliant with ISO 17024 standards and approved by the US DoD to meet directive 8140/8570.01-M requirements.
Infrastructure Pathway
CompTIA Linux+
CompTIA Linux+ certification validates the skills necessary to be a successful junior level Linux administrator.
CompTIA Linux+ LX0-103 covers how to configure the system, navigate the command line, and use common package management systems. It also verifies knowledge of GNU/Linux commands, device management, and how the filesystem hierarchy standard is implemented.
CompTIA Linux+ LX0-104 covers how to customize your environment (e.g., choosing shells), create simple scripts, and configure networking.
Additional skills verified include securing data, managing services, and troubleshooting user environments.
CompTIA Server+
CompTIA Server+ validates the skills necessary to be a server administrator.

CompTIA Cloud+
CompTIA Cloud+ addresses the increased diversity of knowledge, skills and abilities required of today’s system administrators and systems engineers and validates what is currently necessary to perform effectively on the job. The skills validated by Cloud+ echo the voice of the industry. It is the only vendor-neutral, performance-based IT certification that views cloud-based infrastructure services in the context of broader IT systems operations. Cloud computing does not happen in a vacuum with an assigned “cloud administrator”, but rather an increasingly important piece of an organization’s IT systems.

Cybersecurity Pathway
CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst+
As attackers have learned to evade traditional signature-based solutions, such as firewalls, an analytics-based approach within the IT security industry is increasingly important for most organizations. The behavioral analytics skills covered by CySA+ identify and combat malware, and advanced persistent threats (APTs), resulting in enhanced threat visibility across a broad attack surface.
Perform data analysis and interpret the results to identify vulnerabilities, threats and risks to an organization.
Configure and use threat-detection tools.
Secure and protect applications and systems within an organization.
CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner
CASP validates advanced level competency in risk management; enterprise security operations and architecture; research and collaboration; and integration of enterprise security.
Conceptualize, engineer, integrate and implement secure solutions across complex enterprise environments to build resilient networks.
Apply critical thinking and judgement across a broad spectrum of security disciplines to propose and implement sustainable security solutions that map to organizational strategies.
Translate business needs into security requirements
Analyze risk impact
Supervise and respond as team lead to security incidents
PenTest+
PenTest+ assesses the most up-to-date penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment and management skills necessary to determine the resiliency of the network against attacks. Successful candidates will also have the intermediate skills and best practices required to customize assessment frameworks to effectively collaborate on and report findings and communicate recommended strategies to improve the overall state of IT security.
Planning and scoping
Information gathering and vulnerability identification
Attacks and exploits
Penetration testing tools
Reporting and communication
Professional Skills
CompTIA Project+
The CompTIA Project+ examination is designed for business professionals who coordinate or manage small-to-medium-sized projects.
Manage the project life cycle.
Ensure appropriate communication.
Manage resources and stakeholders.
Maintain project documentation.
CompTIA Cloud Essentials
CompTIA Cloud Essentials demonstrates what an individual knows about cloud computing from a business and a technical perspective. It also demonstrates what an individual knows about moving to and governing a cloud environment. The CompTIA Cloud Essential certification is known to be relevant to IT specialists, IT relationship managers, IT technical services specialists, IT architects, consultants, IT and business management, analysts, and Business Process Owners. While it is generally not required, CompTIA recommends that a potential candidate have at minimum 6 months of experience working in an IT environment with a direct involvement in IT-related decision-making, Introduction to Network Design and Management is recommended as a prerequisite.
Learn the fundamental concepts of cloud computing.
Learn the business aspects and impact of cloud computing.
Differentiate the types of cloud solutions and the adoption measures needed for each.
Identify the technical challenges and the mitigation measures involved in cloud computing.
Identify the steps to successfully adopt cloud services.
Identify the basic concepts of ITIL and describe how the ITIL framework is useful in the implementation of cloud computing in an organization.
Identify the possible risks involved in cloud computing and the risk mitigation measures, and you will also identify the potential cost considerations for the implementation of cloud and its strategic benefits.
