Risk Management

Description

Risks affecting organizations can have consequences in terms of economic performance and professional reputation, as well as environmental, safety and societal outcomes. Therefore, managing risk effectively helps organizations to perform well in an environment full of uncertainty.

This seminar workshop aims to provide a fundamental understanding of the principles, framework and a process for managing risk that can be used by any organization regardless of its size, activity or sector. This can help organizations increase the likelihood of achieving objectives, improve the identification of opportunities and threats and effectively allocate and use resources for risk treatment.

This interactive course is designed to introduce and discuss various risk management concepts, tools, and techniques in an organizational context. Using a system approach, the course will emphasize discussion on (1) the design of a risk management policy and (2) the implementation of risk management practices.

Firstly, a risk management policy serves two main purposes: to identify, reduce and prevent undesirable incidents or outcomes and to review past incidents and implement change to prevent or reduce future incidents.

Secondly, understanding various risk management principles and practices (such as risk assessment and treatment) purports to develop a risk mitigation plan for all the risks identified, prioritizing the risks that are found will be more likely to occur.
