Statistical Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling in Business Research

Course Description

This course is primarily about data analysis and the use of appropriate statistical tools in business research.

The learning method combines lecture and reading of journal articles with workshops on the use of statistical software using real data sets.

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

  1. To understand and interpret basic statistical analysis concepts such as mean, median, mode, standard deviation, percentile, including its applications in business research.

  2. To understand and interpret analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t-test including Tukey’s test among significant predicting variables.

  3. To understand and interpret correlation analysis among selected variables.

  4. To understand and apply linear regression/multiple regression

  5. To understand and apply structural equation modelling in finding the causal relationship among selected variables.

  6. To learn basic statistical functions on Minitab 18, SPSS 20, and AMOS 22 especially for ANOVA, t-test, Tukey’s test, correlation, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, and structural equation modelling.

  7. To identify, formulate, and propose model related to his/her own business or company problem.
